Understand Free and Pro

Know what the free tracker includes, what Pro adds, and how to buy, restore, or manage it — no Keel account required.

Before you begin

The complete tracker is free: routines and fast logging, the week calendar, core tools and local history.

Pro is an App Store subscription tied to your App Store account, never to a Keel account.

Keel tracks. It never advises. Pro adds tools for recording and reading. The price and any trial are shown only in the app, by the App Store; this guide shows neither.

Steps

1. See what Pro adds: unlimited programs, inventory forecasting, deeper Insights, side-effect and blood-panel records, and the Keel Report export. Pro-only surfaces carry a PRO mark.
2. Compare the tiers: Settings › Plan › Compare Free and Pro opens the comparison screen.
3. Open the paywall: tap See Keel Pro on the comparison screen, tap any PRO mark, or use Get Keel Pro in Settings › Plan for the direct route.
4. Choose Annual (marked Best value) or Monthly (Billed monthly). The price, and a trial timeline only if you are eligible and Annual is selected, are shown there by the App Store.
5. Buy with your App Store account. Once Keel confirms your Pro access (the App Store purchase plus Keel’s own access check), the sheet becomes “Keel Pro is active.” with Manage Subscription and a finishing button — Done, Continue, or Continue to …, depending on where you opened it.
   • A purchase awaiting approval (Ask to Buy) shows a waiting message only. If the purchase went through but Keel’s access check fails, the sheet shows a blocked-access message, with a recovery control only when that recovery can run from this sheet. If you cancel in the App Store sheet the paywall simply returns, quietly, with no message. Nothing unlocks until Keel confirms access.
6. Bought before, or reinstalled? Settings › Plan › Restore Purchases (shown while the plan is Free) asks the App Store to re-confirm your access.
7. Change or cancel: Manage Subscription on the paywall or Manage subscription in Settings › Plan (Pro state) opens the App Store’s subscriptions page. The App Store shows your renewal or expiry; access follows what it displays.

What you’ll see

On the free tier the paywall shows a selling surface whose samples are labelled EXAMPLE unless your own record fills them; once Keel confirms your Pro access it shows “Keel Pro is active.” and may list your verified plan details.

Settings › Plan shows Current plan · Standard on the free tier — Standard is Keel’s name for the free tier — and, when eligible, a one-line trial caption; in Pro it shows the unlocked note and Manage subscription.

Notes and troubleshooting

• “Your App Store Pro access is active on this device — no Keel account required.”
• Features still locked after buying? Wait for the App Store confirmation, then use Restore Purchases.
• Keel is independently built; Pro supports its development. Pro adds tools for recording and reading; it changes nothing about what you take.
